General Jewellery Care Tips
1. Store Carefully
-
Keep each piece separate—use soft cloth pouches or a jewellery box with compartments to avoid scratches and tangles.
-
Avoid direct sunlight, excessive heat, and humidity as they can dull metals and gemstones.
-
For delicate layered chains, consider placing pendants inside small zip-lock bags, with clasps sticking out—this prevents tangling.
2. Clean Gently
-
After each wear, wipe jewellery with a soft, dry cloth to remove oils and residues.
-
Be especially gentle with pearls, whose organic nature makes them sensitive—avoid immersing them in water, and instead wipe with a soft, damp cloth.
3. Avoid Chemicals & Moisture
-
Remove jewellery before swimming, bathing, exercising, or applying perfume, body lotion, or hairspray—chemicals can tarnish metal and damage stones.
-
Chlorine (in pools or hot tubs) can cause irreversible damage, especially on plated items.
4. Handle With Care
-
Be mindful when putting on/removing jewellery—don’t tug at delicate chains or clasps.
-
Inspect your jewellery every 6–12 months for loose stones or worn clasps, and get them professionally repaired if needed.
